Advocate Collective

Our vision

To publicly advocate for the Christian faith, and bring the goodness, beauty, and truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit in North America.

The problem.

After 25 years of ministry with a focus on advocacy for the Christian faith (apologetics), Amy believes that there has never been a more desperate need for public proclamation and discussion of the gospel that is persuasive, culturally sensitive, thoughtful, empathetic, confidently rooted in scripture and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The gospel must be taken outside of the walls of the church into campuses, parliaments, boardrooms, and airwaves. There are not many who are equipped to do this work of public discourse, proclamation and persuasion.

The collapse of ministries and churches only exacerbates the need, and the wounded are multiplying. Light and healing need to come where there has been darkness. Disillusionment and deconstruction must not take hold. Christian women who lead in their professional workplaces feel under resourced to lead and speak up for the gospel. If they were empowered it could make a significant difference to the Great Commission.

ADVOCATE:

  • 1 Peter 3:15 speaks of being prepared to advocate for the hope within.

Everything we do as an organization will reflect the value and importance of pointing the world to the truth of
the gospel and the hope found in receiving Christ.

  • In John 14:26, the Holy Spirit is called an Advocate. This organization will be committed to the person and work
    of the Holy Spirit today.

  • To engage in advocacy is to stand in the gap where there has been injustice and to speak up for those who have been mistreated, shining the light of Christ and contending for it to be on earth as it is in heaven.

  • Every Christian is called to speak up and use our voices, gifts and skills in the contexts we find ourselves in.
Christian women are far les likely to have been empowered by the church to do this. A particular focus of Advocate will be on equipping and empowering female leaders to find their voices and rise up.

TEACHING TRUTH

We support the ongoing work of Public Advocacy for the Christian Faith by Dr. Amy Orr-Ewing by covering the associated costs of administration, travel, event management and media services. Advocate stands behind Dr. Amy Orr-Ewing supporting the ministry events, talks, books, media, productions and conversations such that the ministry is empowered by the Holy Spirit, well-resourced, and delivered with excellence.

SEEKING JUSTICE

Advocate offers small grants of support for professional therapy to survivors of abuse, church hurt, violence or persecution and supports the work of Dr. Amy Orr-Ewing in writing and speaking into questions of justice, ministering to survivors, and equipping Christian leaders to walk in the light.

LEADERSHIP COHORTS

Advocate runs executive leadership cohorts led by Dr Amy Orr-Ewing for Senior Female Leaders in corporate, academic, political, creative industry or policy making roles. This is to empower Christian women who lead in these critical spaces to have the spiritual, biblical, theological and communication equipping they need to thrive and see the advancement of God’s Kingdom on earth.
