Advocate Collective supports the speaking, writing, media and justice advocacy work of Dr. Amy Orr-Ewing in North America.

OUR VISION

To publicly advocate for the Christian faith, and bring the goodness, beauty, and truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit in North America.

Our mission is simple and profound: to rebuild apologetics with empathy, kindness, and thoughtfulness.

THE PROBLEM

Apologetics as it has often been practiced in the last century faces a credibility crisis. For many outside the church, the word conjures images of staged debates, YouTube arguments, or clever one-liners meant to silence skeptics. This approach may score points but it rarely changes lives. In fact, it often deepens mistrust.

Three interrelated challenges define the problem:

Generational Shift

Digital natives are skeptical of authority and highly attuned to authenticity. They are not interested in rehearsed arguments but in genuine dialogue. The rise of social media means that every apologetic claim is instantly fact- checked, critiqued, and memed. For a generation raised in pluralism, proof texts are not persuasive; lived witness is.

Polarization

Public discourse is increasingly polarized. Every issue becomes a battlefront, and apologetics is often drawn into the culture wars. Instead of being seen as a bridge, apologetics is perceived as a weapon. This leaves many church leaders wary of introducing apologetics into their ministries at all, for fear it will divide rather than unify.

Credibility

High-profile scandals, moral failures, and politicization within parts of the church have eroded the authority of Christian voices. Even those with good intentions often find themselves dismissed before they begin. In such a climate, intellectual arguments alone cannot repair credibility — they must be matched by integrity and compassion.

At the heart of Advocate is a vision for apologetics reborn as a ministry of care. We envision a world where apologetics is no longer about argument but about advocacy — not about scoring points but about serving people.

OUR VISION

We dream of a time when apologetics is once again a gift to the church and the world, where those who are skeptical can say, “Even if I donʼt believe, I trust that Christians will treat me with kindness and respect.ˮ

This vision is not a compromise on truth. Rather, it is a recovery of the biblical conviction that truth is most compelling when embodied in love.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

  • 1 Peter 3:15 speaks of being prepared to advocate for the hope within.

Everything we do as an organization will reflect the value and importance of pointing the world to the truth of
the gospel and the hope found in receiving Christ.

  • In John 14:26, the Holy Spirit is called an Advocate. This organization will be committed to the person and work
    of the Holy Spirit today.

  • To engage in advocacy is to stand in the gap where there has been injustice and to speak up for those who have been mistreated, shining the light of Christ and contending for it to be on earth as it is in heaven.

  • Every Christian is called to speak up and use our voices, gifts and skills in the contexts we find ourselves in.
Christian women are far les likely to have been empowered by the church to do this. A particular focus of Advocate will be on equipping and empowering female leaders to find their voices and rise up.

We empower their voice to speak into strategic areas of mission for God’s Kingdom while building networks of friendships with people who long to change the world.

EMPOWERING LEADERS

THE MISSION

Public: Creating digital media, articles, podcasts, and videos that model thoughtful engagement with cultural questions. These resources are designed to be accessible, shareable, and relevant to seekers.

Church: Partnering with congregations to embed apologetics into discipleship, leadership development, and outreach. Our first partnership with Vintage Church LA is a pioneering example of this model.

Leaders: Equipping pastors, educators, and Christian leaders with tools and training that enable them to practice apologetics as pastoral care, not polemics.

Everything we do flows from this mission: to serve both the church and the world by creating resources that defend faith not with hostility, but with hospitality.
